5 PILLARS

SLEEP

+ Sleep is imperative for recovery and repair.

+ Poor quality sleep is often caused by hormone imbalances (elevated cortisol & lowered melatonin) and hormone D deficiencies.

+ Elevated cortisol leads to chronic inflammation, obesity, heart disease, elevated blood sugar and cancer.

+ If you’re not dreaming at night, or remembering your dreams there’s a good chance you’re not entering into REM sleep. This can lead to lowered immunity, memory trouble and irritability.

+ Are you exercising, eating healthy and still having trouble losing weight? It could be your sleep!

DETOX

+ Daily elimination is very necessary. Otherwise, toxins can build up which drive a potentially chronic inflammatory response.

+ Mitochondria are factory burners of fuel (food). Burning fuel creates "ash" (waste), which needs to get moved from the cells (sweat, urination, excretion)…hence: DETOXIFICATION!

+ Poor digestion means we can eat healthy foods, but poop out important nutrients that aren’t being absorbed and transported into the cells.

+ How can your body prioritize fat burning when toxicity is elevated in the body?

+ Other forms of toxins that we are exposed to are:

  • Personal care products (lotion, shampoo, make up, aftershave, tooth paste, perfume etc.)

  • Cookware (teflon, plastic, cans aluminum etc.)

  • EMF: artificial blue light, wifi, smart meters, cell phones, smart devices, wireless devices etc.

  • Cleaning products(parabens, triclosan, Phthalates etc.)

Artificial blue lights from screens can make you fat!

NUTRITION

+ You could trace every disease and every ailment to a mineral deficiency.” - Dr. Linus Pauling (Two times Nobel Laureate)

+ You’ve got to eat real food in order to get all of the vitamins, minerals, amino acids and fatty acids necessary for dis-ease prevention.

+ More than 70% of the Immune System is clustered around your digestive tract!

+ The foods you eat build up the GOOD bacteria (immune boosting) or the BAD bacteria (pathogenic) in your gut.

+ Common symptoms of poor gut health include: gas, bloating, acid reflux, constipation, eczema, acne, fatigue, depression, brain fog, autoimmunity, IBD, etc.

STRESS

+ Engaging in consistent self-care practices correlate to higher levels of creativity, happiness and success.

+ Taking time to do things you enjoy, establishing work/life balance and experiencing gratitude is vital in order to recharge and feel restored from life’s daily demands.

+ Stress not only impacts interpersonal relationships, but it also impacts stomach acid levels, gut bacteria, digestion and it suppresses the immune system.

+ Getting into a parasympathetic (rest & digest) state improves stomach acid production, cortisol levels, HRV/recovery and facilitates deep restorative sleep.
